The Cambanoora Gorge is also known as the Condamine Gorge and locally referred to as “The Crossings”.
It is a dramatic cliff lined gorge running from the Head of the Condamine through to the Killarney area.
One of the earliest records of this area being referred to as “Cambanoora” is on a postcard from the early 1900’s.
The Head, Gorge and Killarney areas were settled by pioneering families in the 1850’s.
The Gorge was the home to many families working in the timber and dairy industries.
The Gorge commences at the Head in stunning grazing country, towering over 14 River Crossings, gentle riversides and tumbling creeks, and cultivation at the bottom of the gorge.
Cambanoora Co offers guided 4WD Tours of this region, giving you the opportunity to understand more about this beautiful area.
